DialogMaster Pro (DMPro) is a rehearsal app specifically designed for actors of all levels, from the beginner to the professional, and is available on iPhone & iPad.
Its audio recording and editing functions assist with memorizing and rehearsing a script or screenplay without having any other scene-partners present.
Repetition is the best way to memorize; however, reading lines over and over can become tiring and time consuming. Unlike reading lines, with DMPro, you can learn your lines while occupied with other daily tasks. It allows you to rehearse in the privacy of your own home while preparing a meal, or getting dressed, or even in the car hands-free on the way to an audition, rehearsal or performance.
How does it work?
DMPro allows the user to record all lines in a script and then tag each character name to their recordings in the scene. Once tagged, the user can apply customized edits to the project so they can rehearse specific sections separately, or group multiple scenes together. They can add action lines, narration, or voice-overs, as well as automatically skip selected lines altogether in playback.
One of the main functions is to apply muting to the user’s own character’s lines in playback once memorized. The purpose of this is to allow the user to say their own lines during playback without any prompting or assistance, yet all other characters’ lines will continue to play in the overall conversation.
DMPro caters to all actors, from beginners to Hollywood and Broadway professionals.
